Book Trailers: A TechLiteracy Project
Explore the details of a successful collaborative project between a school librarian and elementary/middle school classroom teacher. See student-produced book trailers that were created to promote books nominated for the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Award and learn how you can implement a unit or project like this wherever you teach. You'll walk away with all you need for a project that can be used as is for 5th grade and up, or adjusted to be used for lower elementary grades through high school. It's a great example of a project that meets a variety of standards AND has an authentic audience for the student-produced work.

Tune in to your library stations
Elementary students were antsy learning about that day’s activity, and not engaging with it. And then along came stations! Now students engage in learning; and have choice how and with whom they will work. Library skills are practiced and students are excited; they spend more time actively learning. See what worked, and didn't work; try some of the activities third through fifth graders do; and create a plan for stations in your own library.

Science = Art. Develop and improve scientific observational and visual communication skills while engaging students in scientific illustration instruction
Scientific Illustration is a form of art. It is a form of communication. It is a form of appreciation. This hands-on presentation will lay down the foundation for educators to use illustration techniques in and out of the science classroom. Effective Coaching = Success with Inclusive Technology
Effective Assistive Technology services are MUCH more than just knowing the latest apps. How do we get there? Are you effectively and consistently considering AT for every student? Do all your students have access to the supports they need to be successful? Does every staff member know what they need to know to ensure that every student gets what they need? This session will dive deep into these questions and more as we break down AT service delivery and discuss how to build district capacity to effectively meet the needs of every student. We will also use the Seven Daily Drivers outlined in Nathan Lang’s book, Everyday Instructional Coaching, to develop a roadmap for supporting the effective use of technology in our schools.
